Click here for details and requirements Buildings Closed for Non-Essential County Business Ocean County officials have signed an emergency proclamation regarding the coronavirus outbreak. As part of that action, Ocean County government buildings will be closed to the public for all non-essential county business as of 11:59 p.m., March 16. Always assume they are live and dangerous. Report downed lines immediately to 888-544-4877. For Atlantic City Electric Customers: Customers are asked to report any outages and to stay away from any downed wires. To report outages and/or downed wires, call 1-800-833-7476, follow the prompts, and ask for a call back to confirm that power has been restored. Information on evacuations, shelters and other storm-related activities is available on the county and local municipal websites or by calling non-emergency numbers. Silver Alert System Ocean County wants the public to be aware of the state's Silver Alert System which could serve as a lifeline in cases of missing persons who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairment. To report unattractive weeds and grass too tall that might be causing site distance problems along state Highways in Ocean County including Routes 37, 35, 72 and 70, call the state Department of Transportation dispatch number at 609-588-6212.
